I then created a new layer and downloaded a brush to create a background that seemed like a letter. I thought this was appropriate as the story on this page is an interview with the girl in the picture. I also think that if i had left the background as white it would have made the double page spread look very plain so i wanted to use something to fill up the empty space i was going to leave.
